I'm scrapping my
reading plan. Screw it. I have been reading some books I got at Goodwill this summer.
The Death of Vishnu by Manil Suri.
A Sideways Look at Time by Jay Griffiths. Right now the time book is just annoying. Vishnu is still dying, his horse just showed up.
...and Vishnu's in a better place now. Or worse. Whatever. Probably better
ReplyDeleteMy reading plan's gone all to hell.
ReplyDeleteI hope to get in some good reading time during the holidays, but I am also fighting an intense desire to watch a lot of movies.
I figure some movies are better than some books, right?
ReplyDeleteYou actually have a reading plan? I have a coping strategy.
ReplyDeleteHere's a novel of serious import to add to your reading list: The Truth About Diamonds, by Nicole Richie. [Yes, that Nicole Richie. Didn't know she could read? Me neither.]

I read that review too, faux! It actually sounds good. In a crappy way. Good'n'crappy.
ReplyDeleteMy reading plan is a mix of books I feel like reading and books I think I should read, since I turned away from the academic path and all.
Good for you SD!! I too have put down books I didn't feel were worth finishing. Life is too short to be stuck reading crap! I applaud you for abandoning bad crap and embracing good crap.
ReplyDeletep.s. We missed you Friday. Hi-larious show! (even though Voix was robbed at the pagent!)
sd... i still have those books for you but i might bring them only a few at a time... mostly because i had to fill a shelf up and now if i take them all out at once my books on shelf four will all tip crooked and that will cause my ocd to overload and i'll end up collecting eyes again.
ReplyDeleteI've started reading Foucault's Pendulum by Umberto Echo. Delicious!
ReplyDeleteDelightful! I have that book at my desk, Oppie.
ReplyDeleteWhackly, anytime, anytime. I would not want to disturb the delicate balance of your mind. Heaven forfend.
Lucas: missed ya'll too.
Faux: Shibby!
