Anywhere But Here

I went to high school with this guy. Interesting. Good artist. Still, a terrible speller. Isn't it funny how you don't see people for a long time, then you hear about them...? Well, I don't know, it's just weird.

In other non-news,
I thought Rainbow & CN would appreciate this article on Slate.com, which descibes the BEP song "My Hump" as "so bad as to veer toward evil."

  1. My favorite comic is "Get Fuzzy", that Bucky is just plain funny. Clurg will probably say his favorite comic is something obscure I've never heard of. But I'm okay with that.

  2. If I had to base it on the comics in the Mobile paper, the absolutely pathetic Mobile paper that dropped Zippy (not Ziggy) after less than a year, I would say it's a tie between Family Circus and Get Fuzzy. I like them both for different reasons.

Perry Bible Fellowship can be injuriously funny. It's like a Far Side with hints of Charles Addams and absurdism. Google it--you can read them online.

As far as strips go--I'm fairly traditional--but I'm getting ready to break so many blogger etiquette rules that I may save it for a post. I like a lot of comic strips from Krazy Kat, Dick Tracy, Little Nemo, Calvin and Hobbes...

Does anyone read Prince Valiant or Brenda Starr? I mean really.

  3. I like Get Fuzzy too. Ooh! and the Boondocks. Calvin and Hobbes will always be my favoritest. I want to like Zippy, I'm sorry, I just don't get it.

  4. I don't always get it either, but it was a hell of a lot more fun to read than Blondie.

  5. My grandpa used to read the comics to me over breakfast when I visited it. Having the comics read to you really sucks all the funny out of it, but it is one of my warmest memories I have of my grandpa.

And off topic, SD, how is Nick today?

  6. I type too fast and don't preview my comments very well. My grandpa was very much a HE. He smelled like oil and machines and wore Coveralls daily.

  7. Nick is still sort of pale. He seems to be digging the sunlamp, though.

  8. Glad Nick is digging the sunlamp. Rock hard abs, er, I mean stems and leaves always look better with a tan. Go Nick Go!
