This is what happens while you ask your stupid questions

The other side of the phone line.

Actually, this is clean. I never did this (HA!) but I have heard that CSRs sometimes hit the mute button to let their co-workers know that the person on their current call is, perhaps, a fucking douchebag motherfucker.

Good times. I miss it so.

  1. HA! I spent some time in a call center, and that is SO TRUE!

I am SO NICE when I talk to folks on the phone now. I know they probably still mock me and wish I would die.

  2. Me too. I try to avoid calling in unless I absolutely have to.

  3. Oh, yes, I miss those times of comrodery also.
I never did that either but I agree, it sucks to be on the other end, knowing exactly what they're saying when they say, "Can you hold for a moment?"
In reference to customer service, I did get a gift of a kind word and a t-shirt when I was nice to the drive-up people at Taco Bell once. The note said 'Thanks for being so nice!' Needless to say I was surprised.
In the end it pays to be nice. You don't have to look behind you to find KARMA on your tail ready to kick you in the arss.

  4. Wow. That's cool.

I think I'm fairly nice but not I-want-to-give-you-a-t-shirt nice. Except someone did actually say that last week, which made me feel quite warm inside.

Yeah, karma is a stern taskmistress.
