I love all the boozing holidays
That isn't really true. Memorial Day isn't really in memorial of sunburn and alcohol abuse, right? When I was a kid I used to go to Memorial Day services or programs with my parents, bring wreaths out to the cemetaries for grandpas and uncles. Do you guys do anything like that? I think my folks will, my bro who's a vet will probably do something too. I'll lounge about as I usually do.

I would like to but I'm just too damn lazy to do anything meaningful lately. I think it's sad that people use holidays like that but what can you do?? People use any reason to party. Excuses to get drunk without anyone thinking something else is going on. That's my take anyway, take it for the penny it's worth. lol. HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!!!
ReplyDeleteI trie to alieviate my guilt by playing taps with my armpit while i brush my teeth. Having, then, experienced the soulful sobriety of the realization that thousands of soldiers have died so that I can have my freedoms taken away by George W. Hitler and the complicit congress of the United States Of America I get on with my damned life.

when i was in high school i was in the marching band and memorial day was the start of the marching band season. i always hated it. we had to march through our town and to the cemetery and it was like 3 miles. we played your typical pro-USA songs and then marched back. i did it for 5 years and each year hated it more and more.
ReplyDeletenow that i'm 15 years older, i don't do anything for the "holiday". i don't even reflect. that's how i show my freedom; by being one of those liberals who hate this country ;)
